The old iPhones didn't even enable the landscape-orientated keyboard for texting or emailing. When it did become available (with the 3GS model and the 3.0 OS), my WPM doubled (but is still embarrassingly low). Here's hoping more apps and perhaps even the home screen dashboard become landscape enabled.
