@Jamie - nope, you're not missing any drastic changes!

But, I will say that I think that while these design tweaks seem minor, they make a lot of the site features more accessible...not so much for those that know the interface inside and out, but navigation seems more intuitive for new users that mightn't be familiar.

Comment on Fat Fingers? How people really use the iPhone. by Kristen Vang

Great find, I've spent far too long believing my difficulty with the touchscreen was due to having Homer Simpson fingers.

The old iPhones didn't even enable the landscape-orientated keyboard for texting or emailing. When it did become available (with the 3GS model and the 3.0 OS), my WPM doubled (but is still embarrassingly low). Here's hoping more apps and perhaps even the home screen dashboard become landscape enabled.

@suzie
The masterminds behind foursquare are Dennis Crowley, Naveen Selvadurai, Harry Heymann, Nathan Folkman and Mike Singleton.

I got to know Dens during my days in NYC. He first launched Dodgeball (a similar service to foursquare) which Google later bought... and killed.

Gregory,
Thanks for sharing the link, it's an interesting read. I hadn't heard many of those allegations before now.

I admittedly know little about Wikimedia's financials or "Jimbo's" transgressions (sheesh, that word is certainly getting its 15 minutes of fame!). But, what I do know is that Wikipedia has been a great utility for me personally. In the same way that I expect to pay for any useful online service (whether it's directly via subscription or a freemium model or indirectly via advertising or data collection/trend mining), I felt some sort of remuneration was deserved.

And honestly, if "Jimbo" wants to piss away my $20 donation on first class tix to Korea, I'm not really fussed - just so long as Wikipedia keeps on delivering for me like it has countless times in the past.
